Important Update About Behavioral Health Billing
Beginning July 20, 2026, DFD Russell Medical Center will begin collecting applicable copays and billing patients for Behavioral Health visits.
This change is necessary because funding that has helped support our Behavioral Health program has been reduced. Like our other medical services, we must appropriately bill for the care we provide to ensure these important services remain available for our patients and communities.
Our commitment to affordable care has not changed.
If you are concerned about the cost of your care, you may qualify for DFD’s Sliding Fee Discount Program. The program provides reduced fees for eligible patients based on household income and family size, helping ensure that everyone has access to the care they need regardless of their ability to pay.
If you would like to apply for the Sliding Fee Discount Program or have questions about your insurance coverage, copay, or billing, please speak with a member of our front desk staff or contact our Patient Assistance or Billing team. We are happy to help.
Thank you for allowing DFD Russell Medical Center to be your partner in health. We appreciate the opportunity to provide you with high-quality, compassionate care.
Enhancing whole person care.
As part of our commitment to whole person, patient-centered care, behavioral health consultation is available to all DFD Russell Medical Center patients. A consultation is a 15-25 minute visit with one of our behavioral health specialists before, during, or after your visit with your primary care provider.
As a member of your primary healthcare team, the consultant will have a close working relationship with you and your PCP to help resolve a variety of health issues such as stress, pain, insomnia, habits or addictions, parenting matters, managing chronic conditions such as diabetes or heart disease, overcoming trauma, anxiety, phobias, depression, or improving family relationships.
